Portraits of Anton Volek, Head Chef/Patron @ At The Five, Barrie, Ontario.
by Richard Roth on Aug.26, 2009, under People, Product and Fashion
I first met Anton randomly on a family vacation to Panama. A number of other families from the neighborhood I grew up in all went together in a group of 20-30 people and Anton was there with some friends I grew up with. I knew he was a good guy right away because he was walking around with a Canon 5D. Since then I have now done a couple photo shoots for his Restaurant, At The Five in Barrie, Ontario. The 1st being a food prep shoot on a very busy night during Barrielishious, a week where all the restaurants offer full coarse meals for $20. The other was this afternoon, portraits for their website launching one week from today. He was looking for a gritty Black and White look, I think I got what he had in mind.
I will link the restaurant site when its up. I also HIGHLY recommend going to At The Five if you have not yet.
Get a Strawberry Mule to drink while your there too, It’ll change your life

my faves are 1, 3, 4…#4 is effing rad, great for a business card or interview photo for him or something…great lighting, awesome smile, did you use a tilt-shift?
one thing i think couldve been improved on all the photos is that he should have his name embroidered on his chefs coat? that would look mega pro
yea yea nice work
