“Blue Mountain, ON — The Volcom Peanut Butter and Rail jam is one of the most anticipated contests of the year in Ontario and was hosted for the 5th time this Saturday at Blue Mountain. The course set-up made for a fast-paced event with rails set side by side letting riders drop one after another, which made the jam awesome to watch with something going on at all times. Between the high levels of riding, metal music and…”

“Collingwood, ON – The 2009 Coors Light You Look Good Rider’s Cup wrapped up today at Blue Mountain. Over 100 riders participated in the final stop despite the daunting weather forecast that called for warm temperatures and rain throughout day. Luckily the heavy cloud cover held back the precipitation until the very end, with only light showers appearing during the amateur and pro men’s open finals. The warm temperatures…”

Push.ca/Rothphoto @ Ride Shakedown: Day One Qualifiers, April 3rd, 2009.
by Richard Roth on Aug.24, 2009, under Publications and Events
It had been four years since I had gone to a Shakedown yet I still regard it as one of the best contests I had ever been too. Amazing riding, SICK tricks and a chance for me to get really creative with shooting big jumps. This years event was not let-down. Though it was raining both event days and my strobes were sitting outside all day, a little duct tape and some clear garbage bags got me though. I hope you enjoy the photos, they were not easy to get.. haha.
Push.ca/Rothphoto @ Ride Shakedown: Day Two Finals, April 4th, 2009.
by Richard Roth on Aug.24, 2009, under Publications and Events
Day two was even more epic with the best of the best throwing down for $10,000. The rain was still coming down hard but that did not stop 50 riders from doing what they do best.
“Somewhere (no doubt over a frosty cold beer if he was of legal age), Sebastien “Seb Toots” Toutant is smiling right now. Not only is he the Ride Shakedown champion for the second year in a row, beating out 14 other riders, but it’s his second weekend in a row winning $10,000. Last weekend it was the Quiksilver Showdown at Grouse in Vancouver, BC, and this weekend it’s the Shakedown. And now young Seb Toots has a cool 20 G’s sitting in his savings account. Not bad for two Saturdays of snowboarding, eh?” – Matt Houghton
